The Island Gateway

‘Building B’

Located in Bainbridge Island, WA

“A natural development, built by islanders”

This new Bainbridge Island treasure uses superior building materials and meets exceptional green standards with a certified LEED Gold standing. Located at the corner of Winslow Way and Highway 305, the site serves as the ‘gateway’ to downtown Bainbridge Island and the Olympic Peninsula. The project was developed and designed by Asani and Coates Design Architects, with PHC Construction serving as the general contractor. Attracting over 100,000 visitors in its first year of operation, this cultural hub is home to Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and the Kids Discovery Museum. Over 6,000,000 ferry riders pass by this development every year, making it a refuge for visitors who can enjoy a lovely balance of commerce and nature.

‘Building B’ sits directly on Winslow Way and provides 10,000 sq ft of retail space for local companies Bainbridge Bakers and Avalara. Clad in pre-weathered copper panels, this building exemplifies Matt Coates’ vision of creating designs that benefit the environment, economy, and the community.
